Sweden: The Fall of Empire and its Modern Consequences

Join us for a lecture by University of Wisconsin-Madison Faculty Associate Scott Mellor as he discusses the fall of the Swedish empire and its modern consequences.
Scott Mellor has been at the University of Wisconsin Madison since 1989. His research interests currently consist of Oral Theory and The Volsunga Saga, he has recently completed and article and translation on Saint Ansgar and his mission to Sweden, and HC Anderson’s use of Romantic era flower language in his texts and “The Little Mermaid”. He is currently the Norden House Faculty Director, a faculty fellow for the Bradley Learning Community and a member of the Humanities Council of Wisconsin’s Speakers Bureau.
